basic ai tracking

hey all, im trying to set up a basic tracking tree where the ai wanders around an area and upon seeing the player, seeking him.

i *thought* i set up my tree correctly, but it isn't passing the "can see object" step even with it set to the player.

could anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Wander always has a return status of running so it'll never get to Can See Object. Take a look at this set of videos for a similar tree:
