Adding a Prototype Weapon

Hi there, I have a question regarding item creation.

1. When I'm creating a new weapon, I understand that that Animator Item ID needs to be unique. However if I just want to test a prototype weapon (and for the moment don't want to author an animation for it), can I get this working? I though I'd be able to use a placeholder animation that already exists...?

Ok thanks. I ditched the prefab that I pulled from the demo scene and created one from scratch. I managed to get the pistol working, but for some reason there is a delay when firing it. In fact, it only fires (I've changed it to a projectile) after I've pressed the LMB and then either turned, or moved a few steps. Any ideas? Thanks

Yeah it all looked good. TBH I just repeated the process and it worked out first time...so no idea what went wrong initally. Thanks for the response.
