Trying to get my magic item to play impact on objects

I have tried many different ways trying to play impact spawn particle effects properly, but when I spawn particle on impact it just spawns on the floor directly below where my spell cast originated from instead of where my lightning cast projectile and other lightning cast particle impact.

Have you tried comparing your magic item to the demo scene magic item that is similar to the one that you are going for? The ricochet effect will spawn a new object at the point of impact.

I tried it but I actually figured out what was happening. My player was tagged as an enemy for some reason, so my attacks were hitting myself lol. Works now thanks.
