When activating force root motion position, it doesn't do anything. Force root motion rotation does work, but I would also like to freeze the position.

I've used Force Root Motion throughout many abilities so I'm confident that it works 
When Force Root Motion is enabled it'll use your character's animation so you'll want to make sure you don't have any movement with that animation. If a higher priority ability disables Force Root Motion then that will also prevent it from being applied.
