Can't complete the Nolan tutorial - Item Screen / New Item error

"The Item Definition must exist within the Item Collection specified on the character's Item Set Manager."

Apologies, did a bunch of searching but I'm not even sure how to begin to interpreting this yet. I'm simply trying to follow Getting Started / Setup.

I guess you created your own item collection for your items (MyAssaultRifle). Nolan from the demo uses the DemoItemCollection which does not contain the MyAssaultRifle item definition. As the error message suggests, you can switch the item collection on the item set manager (on the Nolan character).
