Recommendations on vehicle controllers

My understanding is that UCC supports integrations with multiple vehicle controllers. So, which to choose? Would love thoughts, opinions and recommendations regarding which work well (and for what) plus which may have issues.

I believe these are the ones currently supported:
  • NWH Vehicle Physics 2
  • Edy's Vehicle Physics
  • Realistic Car Controller
  • Realistic Car Controller Pro
I eventually plan to add support for a wide variety of vehicles: bicycle, motorcycle, car/truck, large trucks, boats, planes and helicopters.
I don't expect any of these support all of those options, but gotta start somewhere. Boats, planes and helicopters will be later additions actually but I do eventually want to support them.

Also, I haven't looked into this at all, but what about support for NPC vehicles maybe via Behavior Designer Pro? Would such a thing be possible?
 
Great, thanks! This is the sort of thing where perspectives from multiple people is helpful. So kinda hoping some of your resident experts and users chime in on this over time. I'm not in a hurry.
 
Hey, so here are a few thoughts I can share :

-First, the Universal Vehicle Controller asset is definitely worth considering, especially if your range of vehicle isn't limited to cars.

-Regardless of which asset you use, I recommend you use Fast Skill's Ultimate Seating Controller in combination with it. It is much more powerful than the existing Drive animation and offers an agnostic approach to boarding objects and sharing control with them. It can even make integrations unnecessary, I personally use it in combination with RCCP and Adventure Creator without the UCC-RCCP integration !

-RCC is pretty great and reliable, easy to get started with, and comes with nice default parameters. The Pro version offers more flexible and detailed controls with a bunch of separate components, but the standard version is pretty sweet already !

-Allow me to share a few things I did with UCC, USC, RCC and AC combined together :




Only the last one was made with RCC Pro btw ! I hope it gives you a good idea of what can be done with these tools :)

-Lastly I personally still haven't tried making a car AI, whether by script or in BD. RCC and UVC have some example AI scripts, there are some in Fast Skill's assets as well. But I see no reason why BD Pro wouldn't be capable of handling a car AI - you would however need to write many tasks yourself.

USC works with everything I have tried with, NWH etc works by setting up via inspector, rcc and rccp are the only integrations that actually required some hard code to support.
