Odd Animation Importing

I am trying to swap the crouching animations, and have made my own using Mixamo + biped in 3ds max, where he looks perfectly normal. However, when importing into Unity, the character is floating way above the ground and also rotated. Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Fixed by changing the Avatar Definition - a procedure that has tormented me on numerous occasions over the last six years! ?
