Astar pathfinding?

I set up the game with Astar pathfinding - added AI Path to the agent and I can see in debug that he is correctly locating the destination. But it won't move.

What needs to be done for UCC to use Astar?
 
A* Pathfinding is not currently integrated - I can post when it is.

Do you have any idea on timelines on when you would be delivering this integrations? I had some moderately functional controllers of my own. I decided after a lot of evaluation to pick up Behavior Designer, BD Movement Pack, and UCC TPS. I felt like I'd have a really solid framework, but since I'm using Gaia, Navmesh isn't really much of an option for me.
 
I'm not opposed to starting the glue myself, but if you're working on it...it would seem real dumb for me to reinvent the wheel :)

A* is one of the next integrations that I'd like to add but I currently don't have a timeframe. Maybe within the next week or two? The integration will be similar to the NavMeshMovement ability, except there will be an IAStarMovement ability that uses the IAStarAI interface.
 
Awesome. Thanks for the response Justin. The other question I have, which I hadn't considered...is there a work around with Behavior Designer? If the timeframe is that short, I have plenty of other systems to work...but AI movement is at the core of a lot of what I'm doing...so the tighter the integration the better for me here.
 
First of all, thanks for all your hard work on this great asset!

Is there an updated ETA on A* integration? Since you floated the idea of "the next week or two" a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd check and see if it might be coming this week before I decide to work on a temporary solution. Thanks for any info you can provide!
 
I shouldn't give estimates ;) UCC is becoming more stable so I should be able to start working on other aspects soon... I've learned my lesson and I don't want to give an estimate though.

Hey one comment regarding the integration page on the UCC tool - have you considered including an indicator to tell you whether or not you had each integration installed? Like a grey box that turns green if it's installed or something like that. I realize I can go through the file browser and check for myself, but I thought I'd check ;) Thanks again for A* integration!

You mean within the integrations manager window? This is an interesting idea - each integration is different so I'd have to come up with a universal way to detect but I'll think about it after we get some more core features released :)

Hah I forgot that movement/tactical/formation integration with a* is separate, right? And if I recall, not available quite yet?
The Behavior Designer integrations are separate, but the integrations are all available now.
 
Since this doesn't look like it's related to the Ultimate Character Controller can you create a new thread? I'm not sure which integrations you are referring to.
